Calvin Heslop, who is starting his Ph.D. in the Taylor Lab this Fall. Calvin recently defended his Master's at the University of Alaska where he studied the effects of the nitrogen-fixing shrub, Siberian Alder, on soil enzyme dynamics in arctic and boreal Alaska. For his Ph.D. Calvin plans to study the role that nitrogen-fixing alder play in the expansion of shrubs into the tundra. We're thrilled to welcome you to the lab, Calvin!
